CIGS

CIGS - BTUIn thin film photovoltaics, the development and manufacturing of solar panels based on Copper-Indium-Gallium-Selenium (CIGS) technology is attracting major investments for its initial growth phase. The main reasons are the potential for high efficiency and low production cost. The production process can include several heat treatment steps including anneals under novel gas environment and Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP).

BTU leverages its experience with large-scale, custom, in-line thermal processing systems to meet the unique needs of this market. These systems can be well over 100 feet in length and include specialized features like coating capability, controlled atmosphere, active load monitoring, and novel atmospheres. We have proven operational and engineering expertise to produce furnaces of such size and complexity in volume. The system architecture is scalable and systems are available for R&D, pilot, and production-sized applications. BTU has the capabilities to handle both glass and roll-to-roll substrates.
