Your BTU belt furnace was engineered to exacting thermal specifications — and so are its heating elements.

BTU heating elements are manufactured to a proprietary BTU design, which means replacement heaters are only available from BTU.

As the original equipment manufacturer, we are the exclusive source for replacement heating elements designed and built specifically for BTU belt furnace systems — including TCA, TFF, TFFGT, VM, VMCA, and DR/Dryer models. Don't leave a long-lead critical component to chance.

Why Source Replacement Heaters from BTU?

BTU heating elements are manufactured to a proprietary BTU design. That design is not published, licensed, or available to third parties — which means a heater sourced elsewhere is, by definition, built to someone else's specifications. It may fit. It may even work for a while. But it wasn't engineered for your furnace, and you have no way to know what you're getting.

When you source directly from BTU, you get the original — matched to the exact geometry, electrical specification, and thermal profile your furnace was designed around.

Heater Configuration: More Complex Than It Looks

This is one of the most important things to understand about BTU belt furnace heaters: although heaters may appear similar in physical size, they are often electrically different — and are frequently designed to be zone-specific, matched to the precise thermal requirements of each zone in your furnace.

Some furnace configurations use left, centre, and right heater arrangements within a single zone. This means a single top or bottom zone may contain up to three individual heaters — and in some cases, those three heaters are not electrically interchangeable with each other.

The practical implication: having "a spare heater" on the shelf is not the same as having the right spare heater. A heater that fits physically may not be the correct electrical specification for the zone that failed.

We recommend contacting BTU to confirm the exact heater requirements for your specific furnace model and serial number before ordering — and when stocking spares, to hold one of each heater type used in your furnace, not just one heater overall.

  • Exclusive OEM supplier

BTU is the only source for heating elements built to original BTU furnace specifications.

  • Custom sizes and configurations

Because BTU belt furnaces are custom-built, heaters are matched to your specific furnace. These are not off-the-shelf items.

  • Heavy-gauge wire construction

Rated for operation up to 1150°C.

  • Fully Enclosed Coil (FEC) design

Flat ceramic heating element with embedded resistance wire, engineered for uniform heat distribution across the full furnace width.

  • Long-life construction

Robust leads and enclosed coil design minimize replacement frequency.

  • Top, bottom, and side heater configurations

We supply whatever your furnace zone layout requires.

Is Your Heater Reaching End of Life?

Belt furnace heating elements don't usually fail without warning. Knowing what to watch for can help you plan a replacement before you're forced into an unplanned shutdown. Common end-of-life indicators include:

  • Increasing zone % power — if a zone is drawing more power than usual to hold the same temperature setpoint, the heater resistance is changing and the element may be degrading
  • Longer furnace ramp-up times — a furnace that used to reach process temperature quickly but now takes noticeably longer may have one or more weakening heater elements
  • Erratic or unstable temperature readings — intermittent temperature fluctuations in a zone, especially ones that don't correlate with other changes, can indicate an intermittent internal connection failure within the heater element

If you're seeing any of these symptoms, contact BTU before the element fails completely. A planned replacement during a scheduled maintenance window is far less disruptive than an emergency shutdown.

Don't Get Caught Without the Right Spares

Belt furnace heating elements are long-lead items. If a heater fails without a spare on hand, you could face weeks — or even months — of furnace downtime while waiting for a replacement to be manufactured to your furnace's custom specifications.

And because heaters are zone-specific and sometimes electrically unique within a single zone, it's not enough to stock just one heater. Many facilities that operate BTU belt furnaces stock one of each heater type installed in their furnace — ensuring they have the exact replacement ready regardless of which zone or position fails.

Not sure what heater types your furnace uses? Contact BTU with your furnace model and serial number and we'll help you build the right spare parts inventory.
