Reflow in a new light
Aurora is BTU’s most advanced reflow oven platform—engineered for the smart factory and built on a legacy of thermal excellence.
Aurora is BTU’s most advanced reflow oven platform, designed for high-volume manufacturers who demand precision, reliability, and process flexibility. Ideal for advanced packaging, SMT, and high-performance electronics, Aurora combines superior thermal uniformity with integrated flux management, smart energy-saving software, and a future-ready control system. With Wincon 8™ at its core, along with Aqua Scrub™ Flux Management and Smart Power technology, Aurora helps reduce operating costs, streamline setup, and improve yield—making it the ultimate choice for next-generation reflow performance.
The new Aurora reflow oven platform features the industry’s first factory configurable heating and cooling architecture providing the flexibility to customize your reflow oven for specific product/process characteristics including very heavy boards, slow cooling requirements, or increased throughput.
Aurora is engineered for maximum ROI with features that reduce operating and maintenance costs:
- Built-in Aqua Scrub™ for minimal manual cleaning
- Smart energy controls to cut power and gas usage
- Easy-access design for fast service
- Configurable footprint that adapts to your process
Low maintenance operation
The Aurora is designed for low maintenance operation. The industry’s most sophisticated flux management system, the AquaScrub is integrated into the Aurora. The AquaScrub features an non-toxic, aqueous rinse agent that had wide compatibility with flux/solder pastes keeping the reflow process chamber exceedingly clean. When the Aurora does need maintenance there are numerous accessibility improvements including a full access chamber – from end to end – including the vestibules. This focus on ease of access is designed to minimize the TTR (time to repair), and extends to every serviceable component of the machine including heaters and thermocouples.
Redefining flexibility and efficiency
The Aurora platform redefines flexibility and efficiency in PCB handling with its advanced dual-lane, dual-speed operation and support for up to five movable rails. Designed for modern manufacturing environments, it features a dual center support engagement system and a wide board capacity of up to 620 mm—ideal for today's larger, more complex assemblies. With a streamlined single-platform architecture and an energy-efficient chain return path integrated within the rail, Aurora delivers unmatched configurability, reduced power consumption, and simplified maintenance for high-performance production lines.
The Aurora oven platform is designed as the successor to the industry-leading Pyramax oven. BTU Launches the Aurora Oven Platform at SMT Connect
Aurora is feature-rich and includes improved energy consumption, reduced nitrogen consumption, Aqua Scrub built-in for flux management and WINCON software for easy configuration.
Perhaps the biggest single feature of the Aurora is it's flexibility. The oven zones can be reconfigured as heating or cooling zones, depending on the application or product being reflowed.
Engineered for today's most demanding manufacturing challenges
From delicate ultra-thin substrates to high-mass server boards, Aurora is built to perform across a wide range of advanced electronics and semiconductor assembly applications—delivering exceptional precision, repeatability, and reliability where it matters most.

Aurora Reflow Oven Key Features & Innovations
Superior Thermal Uniformity
Closed-loop convection control with side-to-side recirculation delivers consistent, high-precision thermal performance across every board. Repeatable results—system to system, site to site—reduce zone temperature set-points for unmatched efficiency.
Configurable Heating and Cooling Zones
Aurora is the first reflow oven with factory-configurable heat and cooling zones. Tailor your system to handle heavy boards, slow cooling needs, or high-throughput lines—convert zones in two-zone increments.
Flexible Conveyor Configurations
Dual-lane, dual-speed operation with up to 5 movable rails and wide board support up to 620 mm. Aurora’s conveyor platform improves configurability, lowers energy use, and maximizes part commonality.
This fully automatic, water-based system continuously removes flux contaminants from the oven atmosphere—reducing maintenance and keeping performance consistent regardless of flux type.
Wincon delivers modern thermal control with a SEMI E95-style UI, light/dark mode, and full MES integration. Real-time diagnostics, barcode traceability, and custom alerts give operators total visibility.
An integrated, redundant process monitor that tracks actual board-level performance versus recipe baselines. Enables full traceability when paired with barcode readers and supports MES data capture.
Smart Power
BTU’s exclusive Smart Power software reduces peak power draw, allowing for a lower connected load and faster response times. Automatically adjusts within a defined limit to optimize performance.
This intelligent energy-saving feature reduced energy consumption during production gaps by intelligently adjusting oven performance—then rapidly recovers to maintain profile integrity.
